Reader’s Question:

I am so scared to get a life insurance because I know that I would have to undergo medical exam during the application process. I am very very scared of needles! What should I do? Can I have insurance with no medical exam requirement?

Michelle

Albuquerque, NM

Definitely, you never run out of many options, Michelle.

Insurance companies are smart enough to cater to the needs of some prospective clients who are capable to pay but are not able to get life insurance because of medical exam. Some may not have the time for medical exam, scared of needles (like you!), and fail because of existing medical conditions.

These special needs are addressed by ‘no medical exam’ life insurance. It can save you so much trouble and time. No exam life insurance policy s excellent coverage without being inconvenienced with the cumbersome medical exam.

There can even be no exam life insurance for ages up to 65 years old. Although no exam life insurance are a little expensive than the traditional ones, it could be well worth if medical exam is the only reason why you cannot have life insurance. You need to secure your dependents in case something really unfortunate happens to you.

The good thing about no exam insurance is that it can be very fast. You just have to fill out a questionnaire which will cost you maybe 10-20 minutes to finish. You might be required to disclose some medical information but you will not undergo urine and stool sampling nor any physical exam.

When you are asked to disclose your medical history, never cover any information about your health since you will be liable for fraud in the future once the insurer finds out about your medical status. This might be a ground for cancellation, even for no exam life insurance in New Mexico.
